Sulu
Lt. Hikaru Sulu is the Chief Helmsman on board the Federation starship USS Enterprise, NCC-1701.
History[]
Born almost in the shadow of Starfleet Academy, it was no great surprise that Sulu enlisted as soon as he was old enough. Much like his heroes, the samurai and musketeers of Earth history, Sulu cultivated both combat training (he was founder of the Academy's European Swordsmanship Club and twice winner of the North American Inter- Academy Fencing Tournament, as well as a judo student) and academic excellence (he was top of his class in both Astro-sciences and Advanced Botany). Even if the Nero Crisis hadn't pushed him to the bridge of the Enterprise, it's clear Sulu had a promising career ahead of him.
Personality[]
Sulu is an examplary young officer. He has an impetuous streak that is usually well concealed, but does cause him to act without full consideration of the consequences in some situations (as in volunteering for high orbital insertions against upper atmosphere enemy facilities).
